As a graphic designer, Val enjoys helping clients design materials for events and campaigns, as well as building annual reports, promotional magazines and brochures. Valerie Walsh founded Valpine Creative in late 2015 after seven years in the marketing and communications industry. She previously worked at advertising agencies and also led departments of for-profit and nonprofit companies. Val volunteers as a board member of the local Public Relations Society of America chapter.

With an eye for detail and design, Val keeps perspective on her clients’ bigger picture. Whether it is more sales or increased awareness, Val develops techniques and designs to meet the goal.

Personal Life

Alaskan, through and through. Growing up in Anchorage, Val is the daughter of a commercial bush pilot and a villager. She spent much of her childhood exploring Bristol Bay Borough, her mother’s hometown.

​

During high school, Val worked every summer at a remote and internationally-recognized lodge in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. Afterward, she attended North Park University in Chicago, Ill. and received a Bachelor of Science in Advertising, with an emphasis in Creative Design.

​

In her free time, she fishes for everything from hammerhead sharks in Florida to trout in Alaska. She tries to fill her freezer by hunting for organic, free-range wild game. Her favorite place to find adventure in Alaska is Delta Junction.

​

Val met her husband, Brennan, while skiing in Girdwood. They live in Anchorage with a very active toddler.

Side Hustles

With her husband, Val owns and operates Kicksled Alaska. Kicksledding is best shared with others, which is why they decided to import Finnish kicksleds to Alaska. Val built the communications outreach plan for the business and designed the logo and e-commerce website. Check it out: www.kicksledalaska.com.
